Book Review: The Divergent Series!

So this is my first blog post all by myself...pretty scary! So before i start i'm just going to warn you, i'm not very good at writing, i'm an awful speller (so expect more than a few spelling mistakes along the way) but i do love reading. So i'm writing a review today of my favorite book series. Hope you enjoy.

So i'm pretty sure everyone must of heard of the Divergent series by now; if not where have you been?! So basically its a young adult, sci-fi romance written by Veronica Roth based on a young girl named Beatrice 'Tris' Prior who is trying to find herself in a city that categorizes peoples personalities into five different factions.  These are
Abnigation; the selfless
Amity; the kind
Eurdite; the intelligent
candor; the honest
and dauntless; the brave.
She struggles to find what faction she fits into but at the same time she has to try to stay alive. However during initiation to the faction she chooses she falls in love with her trainer; four and through out the 3 main books of the series you follow their relationship as the grow and battle to survive together. However during the fourth book we get to take a look into Fours past.

Divergent
Divergent is the first book in the series and personally my favorite. Although it is set in the future and the life style is very different to what any of us live the main character Tris is very relate-able i'm sure to the majority of teens. In this book we watch as she struggles to find her true identity and overcome fears. Shes a very inspiring character and defiantly a very strong one. The book is packed full of twists and turns which i'm not going to spoil but it is defiantly a very exciting read. But i can't forget Four of course, he is Tris's love interest, Four is Tris's trainer during initiation and helps her to survive. He's there when ever she needs him and that's what i love about this book its a very real romance and not rushed like a lot of other books. But i'm not going to give anything else away you should read it to find out! Over all i would give this book a 10/10 how could i not? Honestly it is my favorite book out of the many that i have read.

Insurgent
I have to say insurgent is my least favorite of all the books, its still amazing but honestly there is just too much going on that it becomes almost hard to follow. Its in this book where Tris and Four have some relationship difficulties and honestly i think it spoils part of the book. There are so many turns with her family involving Euritdie but again i don't want to spoil anything. Insurgent is probably the most action packed of the books. However i do think it is still defiantly worth the read but could have been better. I would give this book a 8/10.

Allegiant
I have such a love hate relationship with Allegiant, i love the plot, i love the story, i love how Four and Tris's relationship develops but i can't cope with the ending. But then i think that there would be no alternative ending that would never match up. I honestly thought about the ending for weeks afterwards as i could just not get over it. This book made me laugh, cry and honestly just feel more emotions than i even knew i had. If a book can do that it must be great right? I would give this book a 9.5/10.

Four a divergent collection
This book was an extra addition to the series as it was just supposed to be a trilogy. But to be honest i wouldn't say it is the fourth part. It is made up of a collection of short stories from fours perspective. It goes back through his past; before he even met Tris right up until the moment he realized that he was in love with her. I love this book and find it so interesting that we get to see his past and find out why he is the way he is as we never really got to do that before. Again i wont be giving anything away but i would give this one a 9/10.

There is now a film of Divergent and the Insurgent film is on its way. In the films Tris is played by Shailene Woodley and Four is played by Theo James. I love their on (and off) screen chemistry. A lot of people aren't that pleased with how the divergent film turned out compared to the books because the missed a few parts out but to be honest i love the film just as much as the book and understand that it can be extremely difficult to interpret every little element from a pretty long book into a two hour film and they done a pretty great job of doing so. Over all i would give the film a 10/10 as i loved every minute of it.

I know i haven't mentioned a lot about the books and a lot of the characters honestly because i dont want to give anything away but i really hope you enjoyed this review and go and read the books and watch the film you won't regret it! Until next time..
